Also, it aids to move stool smoothly due to pectin which helps to absorb liquid in the intestines. Rice and mashed potatoes is a good option due to their low-fibre content. Apples are also a good source of pectin, however raw apples are not recommended. You should cook apples to make them easier on your system to digest. You can have a toast made up of processed wheat foods if you are experiencing acute diarrhea.

Further, diarrhea diet includes yogurt as it contains probiotics which establish a healthier balance of bacteria in the digestive tract. If you like non-vegetarian food, you can have steamed chick as it is an easily digested source of protein. Keep in mind that you must avoid butter or oil for the preparations. Dried blueberries are used for the treatment of diarrhea in Sweden due to the presence of tannins, antibacterial properties, and fibre pectin. In order to have a feeling of comfort, you may have an herbal tea like peppermint and chamomile.
